The Way of the Tortoise
Behold the turtle.
He makes progress only
when he sticks his neck out.
– James B. Conant (1893-1978)
SBI! eliminates the barriers. It frees you to focus on building your business. But it does not repeal a fundamental law of economics (the law that "Get Rich Quick" marketers want you to forget)...
It takes time, work and persistence to build a genuine, profitable, long-term business with equity.
It takes "the way of the tortoise" (our SBI! mascot)...
- a persistent and sure approach, fueled by passion and steadied by patience
- the confidence of following a process C T P M that makes sense
- all the tools needed (all in one spot) to execute the process
- the knowledge that this combination of process-and-tools is proven to work.
The SBI! Tortoise represents "every(wo)man," a light-hearted embodiment of the SBIer. This is a tortoise with attitude... a positive attitude. The eyes are bright... optimistic and confident. But not over-confident. See those little wrinkles below the eyes? This is one hard-working, motivated, late-night shellback.
S/he symbolizes the opposite of the "Get Rich Quick" hare-brained schemes ("GRQ hares") that inevitably fail. Tricks do not work in business-building. That does not mean this tortoise is slow though. See those sneakers? The sure-steady-persistent step-by-step SBI! approach outruns the GRQ hare.
The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient.
To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith.
Patience and faith is what the sea teaches.
The biggest mistake people make in life is NOT
making a living at doing what they most enjoy.
We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life.
All that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about.
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
Nothing happens until
The most effective way
to do it is to do it.
